"I know a man who gave up smoking, drinking, sex, and rich food. He was healthy right up to the day he killed himself."
Johnny Carson (1925-2005)

5 Self-Help Keys to Pain Free Posture |
Maintain an optimistic attitude. Your mind and body complement each other in a variety of ways. Meditate. Be positive. Reduce stress. Think healthy! |
You are what you eat. Consume wholesome foods, preferably organic or not very processed (e.g. trans fats), take the needed supplements your diet is lacking (e.g. essential fatty acids), and drink plenty water. If all else fails just try to stay away from too much fast food! Eat healthy! |
Get some sleep. This is crucial. Your body needs anywhere between 6-9 hours a night for restorative reasons. Also, be sure to sleep with good postural alignment. Sleep healthy! |
Use critical thought as your guide. Be an informed consumer about the products you buy and problem solve through all the marketing propaganda. Be proactive! |
Stay (muscle) balanced! Johnny Carson's joke was really about finding balance, everything in moderation and that includes moderation. Stay balanced w/ the P.A.S.T.® Functional Fitness Method! |

My Story - The Abridged Version
The words of Friedrich Nietzsche "what does not kill us makes us stronger" sum it nicely. In my early teens I began having intermittent bouts of low back pain that would eventually become chronic in nature. Over the ensuing years I tried and/or researched practically any and every modality for low back pain. Nothing worked as my back became more unpredictable and increasingly easier to provoke into a dreaded flare-up - not quite the reprieve I had in mind. In my case, the 4 bulging discs in my lower back by age 25 were painful SYMPTOMS and the structural short leg (odds are 3 out of a 1,000), unleveled sacral base (entire spinal column compensates) and umbilical/abdominal hernias were the real undiagnosed CAUSES that also led to a cascade of foot/ankle problems, bilateral hip dsyplasia, SI joint dysfunction, rotator cuff tears, and whiplash/neck pain. Yes, the myriad of dysfunction was ALL CONNECTED and the holistic approach that's evolved into the P.A.S.T.® Functional Fitness Method helped me rediscover my health.
